The European Language proficiency levels

A1 - Beginner

Can trust, understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases, aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete. Can and others imagine and make other people questions about themselves - eg. B. where they live, what kind of people they know and things they have - and can respond to questions of this nature. Can interact in a simple way, when the interlocutors are speaking to speaks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

A2 - Basic knowledge

Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions, related to areas of most immediate relevance (of. B. Information for personal and family, Shopping, Work, surroundings). Can be simple in, communicate routine situations, where it comes to a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his background and education, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

B1 - Intermediate language use

Can understand the main points, clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, School, Leisure activities, etc. goes. Can deal with most situations, likely to arise whilst traveling in the language area. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, Dreams, Describe hopes and ambitions and give opinions and plans short explanations.

B2 - Independent User

Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics; understood in their field, including technical discussions. Can communicate so spontaneously and fluently, that makes regular interaction with native speakers without strain for either party possible. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of topics, explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the- specify and disadvantages of various options.

C1 - Specialized language skills

Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meaning. Can spontaneously and fluently, must be clearly recognizable to search for words without much. Can use language in social and professional life or in training and studies use effective and flexible. Can produce clear, structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational text association appropriately.

C2 - Almost mother-tongue skills

Can practically everything, what he / she reads or hears, understand with ease. Can information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing summarize arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. May spontaneously, express very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
